The majority of immigrants and refugees are familiar with farming. Gardening is a way we can help support them as they acclimate to a new environment.
 

 

Immigrants and refugees with farming backgrounds often experience economic hardship. However, growing culturally-specific crops in gardens helps these growers with supplemental food sources, eliminate potential barriers to land use, and advance successful initiatives to create a sense of safety and belonging

 

We support immigrants and refugees, as well as other underserved community growers, by helping them access community gardens where they can grow their culturally-appropriate crops. Our collaborative efforts with partners help us work with immigrants and refugees who are trying to keep their families and communities close to their culture. By working together, we also bring people from different background together as one.
