Housing and Stability Services
What We Do
One of the most significant stressors for newcomer immigrant and refugee families is finding adequate housing for their families, keeping housing and stability, and preventing evictions and homelessness. ARISE and Shine provides individualized support to African Immigrant and Refugee families in developing a house and stability plan, conduct assessments to identify family’s strengths and barriers towards housing and stability, assist them with completing required paperwork and in understanding lease requirements and their responsibilities, engage with the landlord in conflict resolution in efforts to avoid evictions or families losing their current housing. ARISE and Shine also refers the family to long term appropriate community resources for more affordable and low income to get help with housing needs.
