Many immigrants and refugees come to the United States with no work history. They encounter challenges in deciding what skills to learn and what job to take; consequently, they end up getting low-paid jobs with fewer work hours, and some rely on a welfare program. ARISE and Shine Job readiness training programs to prepare immigrant and refugee adults to find, keep and excel at a new job. We also teach basic employability skills, including effective communication, problem-solving, resume building, personal management skills, good work habits, and interview preparations to improve financial stability and reduce the number of immigrants and refugee families from the welfare program.
